The greatest gifts ...

Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there was two women who never knew each other;
One you do not remember; the other you call mother.
One gave you a nationality; the other gave you a name;
One gave you the seed of talent; the other gave you an aim.
Two different lives shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
One gave you emotions; the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile; the other dried your tears.
The first gave you life and the second taught you how to live in it.
The first gave you a need for love and the second was there to give it.
One gave you up it was all she could do.
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears
The age-old question through the years;
Heredity or Environment, which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling, neither.
Just two different kinds of Love!

Life Lessons

Playing in the leaves ...

Catching up on posting - Mei Le and I had fun a couple of weeks ago, playing in the leaves!

Mei Le took this picture - she's pretty good with the camera! It's me, with one of our two dogs, Darby (Gordon Setter).

Catching up!

SO - I haven't posted in a while - and that's bec WE HAVE NEWS! We are now officially Ebba's parents! We got the news on Tuesday - November 11 - truly a day to remember!

Plus, we got new photos and an update (including vaccination history, growth chart etc), and the little red hand and fingerprints you see above!

From here, we wait for them to issue a new birth certificate (listing us as parents), court documents, passport; then these docs get sent to the Canadian High Commission in Nairobi for her immigartion application to be processed and her visa issued. Then I get to go to ETH!

Estimated time to departure: 6-16 wks. A pretty big window, but big enough to start looking into flights, IMHO.

Will keep you posted!
